Students Attend ISI Debate Featuring Peter Thiel

Updated: Apr 15, 2019

On April 12, three Society members traveled to Harvard Square in Cambridge to attend "Great Ideas Debate: Technology Should Treat Death as an Enemy." Sponsored by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute and the Abigail Adams Institute, the event featured entrepreneur and venture capitalist Peter Thiel and Stanford neuroscientist William B. Hurlbut. The speakers debated the moral ends of technological progress, medicine and mortality, and how technology can best serve the interests of humanity.

Jack, Conrad, and Joshua (pictured in the upper right with ISI President Charles Copeland) enjoyed the event and are grateful for the Department of Political Science for making the trip possible. A video recording of the proceedings is available below.
